If you watched Timothée Chalamet transform into Willy Wonka on the silver screen this past winter, you probably know that the man is multi-talented. Not only can he effortlessly pull off dramatic roles in movies like “Call Me by Your Name” or make audiences laugh during his "Saturday Night Live" appearances, but he’s also a talented dancer, singer, and, apparently, a tasteful foodie.

In an interview for his film "Wonka," Timothée revealed his favorite midnight snack, along with his co-stars. While his co-stars said simple snacks like an ice cream sandwich or a bag of Lay’s potato chips, he took it further and shared that his favorite midnight snack is the “Trader Joe’s ham and glazed onion tart.”

I had to do some digging to figure out the particular snack he mentioned. It's the Trader Joe's Tarte d'Alsace with Ham, Onions, and Gruyère. This tarte or flatbread is sold in the frozen pizza section, and is baked, sliced, and served like a frozen pizza. It is made with cooked ham, crème fraîche, caramelized onions, and gruyère cheese. Yum! No wonder he loves it.

I can personally confirm that this tasty midnight snack is, in fact, delicious. I enjoy the balanced crispiness of the flatbread with the creamy crème fraîche. While he loves to have it as a midnight snack, I enjoy it as an easy weeknight meal, preferably paired with the Trader Joe’s Lemony Arugula Basil Salad Kit, either served on the side or placed on top of my slices. Or I’ll oven roast vegetables alongside this flatbread, depending on what I’m in the mood for.

Unfortunately, this seasonal frozen find is currently not on Trader Joe’s shelves—it might make a reappearance in the fall or winter. Right now, the popular grocery store has two other frozen tartes that you can grab instead: the Tarte aux Champignons made with mushrooms and a blend of cheeses and the Tarte au Brie et aux Tomates made with tomatoes and brie.

If you prefer a closer version to Timothée's favorite snack, you could always bake your own tartes. These prosciutto and cheese puff pinwheels can easily be made with a store-bought puff pastry, and are great for freezing and popping in the oven when you’re craving a little midnight snack like the actor himself. Celebs, they’re just like us.
