UN emphasizes scale of human suffering in Sudan hunger crisis
The civil war that has been raging in Sudan for almost 16 months has led to an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. More than half the population is facing "acute food insecurity", according to the United Nations. Nearly 26 million people are now in need of emergency humanitarian aid.
