Charles Leclerc won the Italian Grand Prix to the delight of Ferrari's fans as Lando Norris again chipped away at Max Verstappen's lead.

Charles Leclerc won the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday to delight Ferrari’s massed ranks of fans as Lando Norris again chipped away at struggling champion Max Verstappen’s lead.

Leclerc finished ahead of McLaren’s Oscar Piastri with Norris in the second McLaren in third.

Norris also picked up an extra championship point for the fastest lap of the race.

Carlos Sainz in the second Ferrari finished fourth, with Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton in fifth.

Verstappen could only manage sixth place – and eight championship points – which saw his lead cut to 62 points with eight races remaining.

Meanwhile in the constructors championship, McLaren took a large chunk out of Red Bull’s lead, with Ferrari not far off in third place.
