Nick Kyrgios battled a leg injury and perhaps some personal demons in his US Open quarterfinal defeat to big-hitting Russian Karen Khachanov.

Kyrgios defeated world number Daniil Medvedev en route to this quarterfinal and will be pleased with his overall efforts, but clearly it will take him some time to recover from this defeat. The Aussie was plagued by a leg injury throughout the contest.
