As reported by The South African website, the match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium finished 2-1 in favour of the men from Gqeberha.

Defender Siyabonga Ngezana gave the Glamour Boys the lead in the 44th minute before midfielder Siphelele Luthuli levelled matters for the Chilli Boys in the 54th minute.

Edmilson Dove’s own goal in the 89th minute was enough to give the Chilli Boys a surprise victory.

Kaizer Chiefs stayed in fourth place in the log with 17 points after 11 matches, two points beyond leaders Mamelodi Sundowns who have two matches in hand.

Had the Glamour Boys won the match, they would’ve moved to the summit of the DStv Premiership standings.

25 months since Kaizer Chiefs were top

It’s been a long wait for Amakhosi fans to see their side looking down on the rest of the PSL teams – over 25 months in fact!

The last time Kaizer Chiefs were top of the PSL table was on 5 September 2020 – which was the final day of the Covid-19 ‘bio-bubble’.
