The ICC has given the official countdown to the Champions Trophy 2025 a fitting launch with a scintillating video, which has raised the tempo leading up to the tournament that is scheduled to be held in Pakistan next month.

The video also went on to trend across the ICC social media handles, crediting its triumph to the victorious return of the iconic ‘white jacket, the glory given and a trademark to the players of the tournament-winning team.

The powerful, prestigious jacket is at the heart of this campaign-a symbol of the honour that defines champions. Adding to the grandeur of the video is the voiceover by the legendary former Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram, whose powerful voice underscores the importance of the event.

The visuals show a tailor stitching the White Jacket with golden thread, having “Champions Trophy 2025 Pakistan” on the front pocket, while fast-moving depictions of the teams competing are interwoven throughout.

The video features shots of cricketing superstars such as Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir, Rohit Sharma, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Jos Buttler and Glenn Maxwell, alongside historical shots that remind of the rich legacy of the game.

It is relevant to note that the eight-team competition of 15 matches will be staged from February 19 to March 9, across three venues – Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi – in Pakistan, with some matches in Dubai.

The teams are divided into two groups of eight each: Group A, comprising Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh; and Group B, comprising Afghanistan, South Africa, England, and Australia.

Pakistan hosts get the account running against New Zealand on February 19 in Karachi, while the blockbuster clash is scheduled for February 23 in Dubai between arch-foes Pakistan and India.

Pakistan will host a total of 10 matches in the country, while four matches, including all three of India’s group-stage matches and the first semi-final, will be played in Dubai. The final will be held in Lahore but if India qualifies, it will also be held in Dubai. Also, a reserve day has been kept for the final clash as a precautionary measure against any obstacles from bad weather.
