Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung shed some light on why the club failed to make a move for Kermit Erasmus.

According to Motaung, the Amakhosi ‘technical staff’ have decided against signing Erasmus!

“I understand that football fans want everything,” Kaizer Chiefs official Bobby Motaung told SAFM.

“They want Erasmus, they wanted somebody from Egypt [Percy Tau]. The fans want this one and it’s normal because they’re wishing well for the club.

“But unfortunately sometimes for the club, there is technical staff. There are people analyzing things and come up to us and say this is a need, this is what we need.

“Those decisions are not taken by me alone, we sit down and we analyse.”

According to Mamelodi Sundowns, Erasmus joined the Buccaneers on a free transfer as he was ‘released’ by the club. The player is valued at almost R8 million by Transfermarkt.
