It’s often served as a dinner starter with onion gravy which already sounds great. You can also enjoy it with Sunday lunch alongside roast beef, roasted vegetables and potatoes. For breakfast, you can make eggs in a basket as they dough dips in the middle or “toads in a hole” with sausages. Another popular way it’s enjoyed in its home of origins is with bangers and mash. These are just a few ways of enjoying this great bit of baking goodness.

Yorkshire pudding recipe

500 ml milk
1 pinch salt
125 g flour
2 eggs, beaten
30 g stock or beef drippings
Method
- Sift the flour and salt.
- Add milk gradually while stirring until smooth.
- Melt the dripping in a shallow baking tin in the oven.
- When smoking hot, stir the mixture and pour into the pans.
- Bake in 180-200°C for 30 minutes.
