A hat-trick from Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana saw Kaizer Chiefs rally from a goal down to claim a 3-1 victory over Stellenbosch FC at the Cape Town Stadium on Sunday.

The deadlock was broken on the half-hour mark and it was Stellies who took the lead against the run of play when Nhlanhla Mgaga pounced on a stray pass from Njabulo Blom and fired a powerful low effort past Itumeleng Khune and into the back of the net.
The Glamour Boys were a dealt a blow 10 minutes before half-time when Khune had to be taken off with a groin injury and replaced by Brandon Peterson.

Bimenyimana equalised on the stroke of half-time when he was brought down in the box and converted the penalty he won.
Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana made PSL history
The Burundian star had another opportunity from the penalty spot in the 49th minute after Fawaaz Basadien handballed with Bimenyimana making no mistake.

Yet another penalty in the 56th minute put Amakhosi two goals in front at 3-1 when Bimenyimana grabbed his hat-trick with another accomplished spot-kick to seal a comfortable victory for the Soweto giants.
Bimenyimana became the first player in PSL top-flight history to score a hat-trick of penalties in a single match.
Despite his heroics, Bimenyimana was not named man of the match.
Instead that honour went to Kaizer Chiefs’ Mozambican defender Edmilson Dove.

The win saw Amakhosi move into fourth place in the standings with 17 points after 10 matches, just two points behind current log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns who have played one fewer match.
