1978 | After the resignation of B.J. Vorster, P.W. Botha, new Prime Minister P.W. Botha appointed cabinet ministers.
2018 | Hurricane Michael made landfall in the Florida Panhandle as a Category 5 hurricane. It killed 57 people in the United States, and 45 in Florida, and caused an estimated $25.1 billion in damage.
