BREAKING NEWS: Presleys Nightclub in Boksburg on fire [visuals]

Popular East Rand club, Presleys Nightclub in Boksburg has been gutted by a raging inferno this evening, Saturday, 10 September.

PRESLEYS NIGHTCLUB ENGULFED IN FLAMES

Visuals are currently making rounds on social, particularly on Facebook from various emergency groups showing raging blazes as the club is engulfed in flames. Part of the clips making rounds was that of a fire truck making its way to battle the blaze.

MOTORISTS WARNED TO AVOID NORTH RAND ROAD

Due to the fierce flames, motorists have been cautioned about this dangerous area.

“Please avoid North Rand Road. Presley’s is on fire. The road will be blocked by emergency vehicles. Please avoid the scene,” Paul Van Der Merwe cautioned motorists on Facebook.

The cause of the fire has not been established at the moment, however, popular patrons are currently sending their thoughts to the owner of the establishment.

“This is Heart-breaking someone’s entire business and life burnt to ashes in merely minutes. Goodbye Presleys and Silverados Boksburg”

PLANNED EVENTS RUINED BY THE DISASTER

Two weeks from now, Presleys was set to host a mega event called the GRANDE FESTA 2 Spring edition.

The club was looking forward to having all its fabulous patrons at the club on 24 September for great music, food and a memorable experience of Portuguese life.

While this venue has been forced by this disaster to shut down, Taboo nightclub in Sandton went ahead voluntarily.

The popular Joburg nightclub officially announced that it had shut down via its Instagram account in July.

Addressing its regular patrons, the former Sandton-based club said:
“Dear patrons, it is with great sadness that we have to officially announce the imminent closure of Taboo Sandton.
“As Taboo Group South Africa, we would like to extend our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to our staff, partners, suppliers, artists and the Sandton community who have supported us throughout the years.”
