Kaizer Chiefs missed out on the chance to grab top spot in the DStv Premiership standings when they were stunned by Chippa United on Saturday.

The match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium finished 2-1 in favour of the men from Gqeberha.

Defender Siyabonga Ngezana gave the Glamour Boys the lead in the 44th minute before midfielder Siphelele Luthuli levelled matters for the Chilli Boys in the 54th minute.

Edmilson Dove’s own goal in the 89th minute was enough to give the Chilli Boys a surprise victory.

Kaizer Chiefs stayed in fourth place in the log with 17 points after 11 matches, two points beyond leaders Mamelodi Sundowns who have two matches in hand.

The three points were enough to see Chippa United jump to seventh place.
