The action comes after eight officials were arrested last year in connection with alleged wrongdoing at the agency’s Johannesburg office.
Three of the cases are still pending.

Firm in its stance against corruption
The Johannesburg office was temporarily closed during investigations, but has since reopened.
SASSA spokesperson Paseka Letsatsi said the agency remains firm in its stance against corruption.
“Fraud and corruption will not be tolerated, accountability is non-negotiable and any official found guilty will face decisive consequences, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to protecting public resources,” Letsatsi said.
The agency has reiterated its commitment to strengthening internal controls and safeguarding social grant funds intended for vulnerable beneficiaries.
