Hugo Broos has his say on Teboho Mokoena’s saga!
Coach Hugo Broos decided against fielding Teboho Mokoena for Tuesday's game between Benin and Bafana Bafana.

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has had his say on the ongoing yellow cards saga in involving Teboho Mokoena.
Mokoena is in the news following Bafana Bafana’s win over Lesotho in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
On Tuesday, reports that Mokoena should not have featured against Lesotho resurfaced and became the talking point.
This is due to the fact that FIFA rules stipulate that a player who receives two yellow cards in the qualifying stage should be suspended for the next match.
The Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder was booked on matchday one against Benin and again on matchday 4 against Zimbabwe.
And, therefore, he should have sat out the Lesotho game and returned for the match against Benin.
Now, Nigeria flagged the error and lodged a formal complaint with FIFA before they were joined by Lesotho on the same day.
Bafana Bafana face a possibility of being docked three points if found guilty of violating the rules.
Hugo Broos’ men currently top the Group C standings with 13 points, five clear of Rwanda and Benin who are second and third respectively.
Asked for his comments on the Mokoena debacle after the Benin game, Broos was simply not interested in that.

“I cannot comment on that at this point. It is an issue that will be resolved in the coming days,” Broos told the media.
“So, I ask that you not expect any further information from me. No comment,” he concluded.
