‘I did not give AfriForum a mandate to speak on my behalf as an Afrikaner’ – Max du Preez
Political analyst Max du Preez disagreed with AfriForum regarding the idea that Afrikaner culture is under threat and targeted.

Political analyst Max du Preez has criticized AfriForum and Solidarity organisations for undermining reconciliation in South Africa.
This came after US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to freeze assistance for South Africa over the Expropriation Bill. Trump also said that Afrikaners could be admitted as refugees in the US because they are “victims of unjust racial discrimination.” The South African Chamber of Commerce in the US announced that 67 042 people have registered on Saccusa’s website as they seek to take Trump’s offer.
Du Preez said AfriForum were to blame for “going to Trump to ask for sanctions”.
“I am a white person, I self-identify as an Afrikaner, I am not a victim, I am privileged, My people’s culture and language have flourished since 1994, and we are all wealthier,” Du Preez told Newzroom Afrika.
Max Du Preez lashed out at AfriForum
“I’m dealing with this absurd thing of people who I didn’t vote for, who speak on my behalf. To me, there’s a very fundamental principle of democracy and freedom and it goes like this: ‘nothing about me without me’. I did not give Kallie Kriel a mandate to speak on my behalf to Donald Trump. There is this private company, a self-appointed, very wealthy company and they do fantastic things, they build technikon and universities etc, but I did not sanction them to go to a foreign country to ask for sanctions on my behalf,” he said.
Du Preez disagreed with AfriForum regarding the idea that Afrikaner culture is under threat. He stated that the Afrikaans language and culture have flourished since 1994, unlike many indigenous cultures..
