As hosts, India and Sri Lanka took the first two slots. Super Eight qualifiers at 2024 and T20I team standings selected the next 10 berths.
Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, the West Indies, and the US all qualified for the 2026 T20 World Cup. With their T20I rating (7th), Babar Azam’s team joined New Zealand (6th) and Ireland (11th) in the next edition.
Regional qualifications will choose the final eight 2026 World Cup teams. There are two qualification spots for Africa, Asia, and Europe and one for Americas and East-Asia Pacific. India defeated South Africa by seven runs to win the T20 World Cup 2024.
