Kaizer Chiefs star leaves big decision in God’s hands
Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen says he will continue focusing on performances and leave his national team hopes to God.
Petersen was one of the key figures as Kaizer Chiefs defeated AmaZulu FC 1-0 in Durban over the weekend, producing another Man of the Match performance.
The result also saw the 31-year-old register his 15th clean sheet from 24 league appearances, strengthening calls for his inclusion in the Bafana Bafana squad.

BAFANA BAFANA DOOR STILL OPEN
The Kaizer Chiefs number one has already attracted attention from national team coach Hugo Broos, who previously revealed Petersen had been in his plans before missing out due to appendix surgery.
Competition remains fierce with Ronwen Williams and Sipho Chaine expected to remain among the leading options, while the battle for the remaining spot remains open.
Kaizer Chiefs coach Khalil Ben Youssef has also publicly backed Petersen for national selection.
Asked whether he still believes a call-up could come, the Chiefs captain remained calm. “I think, for me, you know, the hope is always there,” said Petersen on SuperSport TV.
“But at the end of the day, God is in control. We can only control what we can, and that’s performing week in, week out.

“That’s the only thing I’m in control of. So, the rest, I leave it in God’s hands, and let’s see what happens,” he added.
FINAL GAME AWAITS KAIZER CHIEFS
The Glamour Boys still have one league assignment left before closing the campaign.
Amakhosi will return to the Moses Mabhida Stadium next weekend where they face Chippa United in their final fixture of the season.
For Petersen, another clean sheet could further strengthen his case ahead of the next Bafana announcement.
