‘Khuzwayo stood no chance of playing’ – Itumeleng Khune hits back
Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune says he has no idea why Brilliant Khuzwayo is 'attacking him'.

Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has refuted claims that previous Amakhosi coaches favoured him over Brilliant Khuzwayo.
The 37-year-old retired keeper was the club’s number one keeper for close to 15 years. Between 2012 and 2018, Khuzwayo played second fiddle to Khune and eventually left for Orlando Pirates.
Speaking to iDiski Times, Itumeleng Khune said that Khuzwayo has been telling the media that he was denied the opportunity to play ahead of the former Bafana Bafana captain.
“I saw Brilliant Khuzwayo coming out to attack me, saying other coaches did favours for me,” Khune told iDiski Times.

“But I don’t understand where he takes that from because we used to train together. We used to compete, and we used to have healthy competition. And if you had to go compare, you will see that he stood no chance of playing when I was fit because of what I did on the field whether at training, whether at Chiefs or Bafana Bafana.
“It’s his own opinion. I respect it,” Khune said.
Whenever Khuzwayo was given the opportunity to play for Chiefs, he impressed; however, Itumeleng Khune’s return meant he lost his place. In the six years, the KZN had the opportunity to play for other teams but stayed for too long at Naturena.
Did Khune deny Brilliant an opportunity?
