A man is currently recovery in hospital after falling into a veld fire and suffering serious burn injuries in Roodepoort

A man has suffered burns after falling into a controlled veld fire in Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg today, Monday, 10 October.
MAN SUFFERS SERIOUS BURNS AFTER VELD FIRE FALL
According to Emer-G-Med, the man sustained serious burns following the incident.
“A fifty-three-year-old man has been left with serious burn injuries after he fell into a veld fire in the Ruimsig area earlier today. Reports from the scene are the man was attempting to direct livestock during a controlled veld fire when he fell into the blaze,” Emer-G-Med reported.

“He was treated and stabilized on the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care.”

Emer-G-Med also reported that no animals were harmed in the fire.

In another incident involving a man, Emer-G-Med responded to a crash in KwaZulu-Natal that left a man fighting for his life
At approximately 10am on Friday, 7 October, Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to several motor vehicle collisions on the M7 east bound between the N2 and the Bellville Road area.
In the most serious, paramedics found a light delivery vehicle that had crashed into the back of a heavy duty vehicle. The driver, a male aged approximately thirty years old, was found to be entrapped in the wreckage with serious injuries.

“Intermediate Life Support practitioners worked fervently to stabilize him whilst a Netcare911 rescue technician cut him free using the Jaws-of-life.
Once free he was transported rapidly by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care. Traffic in the area was severely affected as the roadway was closed due to several crashes,” Emer-G-Med reported.
