Netflix renews Bridgerton for seasons 5 and 6
Netflix officially renewed the hit Regency-era drama Bridgerton for seasons 5 and 6, with the fourth season confirmed to premiere in 2026.

Netflix has confirmed that the beloved Regency-era drama Bridgerton will return for not one, but two more seasons.
Seasons 5 and 6 have been officially renewed, much to the delight of fans worldwide, including those here in South Africa.
BRIDGERTON NEW SEASONS
However, viewers will have to wait a little longer for the next chapter, as Season 4 is set to premiere in 2026.
The announcement came during Netflix’s recent upfront presentation, with the news delivered in true Bridgerton style – via a letter from the ever-mysterious Lady Whistledown.
The letter teased that the upcoming seasons will focus on two love stories. First, there will be Francesca Stirling (Hannah Dodd), whose romance began in Season 3.
The next is Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), a fan favourite who has long awaited her moment in the spotlight, according to Deadline.
BENEDICT BRIDGERTON AND THE LADY IN SILVER
Season 4 will centre on Benedict Bridgerton, the bohemian second son of the Bridgerton family, played by Luke Thompson.
Benedict has so far resisted settling down, unlike his brothers, but his perspective changes when he meets Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), the captivating Lady in Silver.
This season promises to explore new dimensions of love and commitment, with eight episodes planned to bring this story to life.
Showrunner Jess Brownell, alongside executive producers Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica, and Chris Van Dusen, continues to helm the series.
PRODUCTION QUALITY
Brownell has previously noted the immense scale of production, likening each season to “eight short feature films.” This may explain the two-year gap between seasons.
This meticulous approach ensures the high quality and lavish detail that Bridgerton fans have come to expect.
Bridgerton has become a global sensation since its debut in December 2020, captivating audiences with its blend of romance, drama, and diverse casting.
ONE OF NETFLIX’S MOST-WATCHED SHOWS
It ranks among Netflix’s most-watched English-language series, with Seasons 1 and 3 holding top spots at #5 and #7, respectively.
The prequel, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, also dominated the Global Top 10, proving the franchise’s enduring appeal.
The production’s commitment to diversity and inclusion adds a modern twist to the period drama, making it relevant and engaging for audiences here and abroad.
LADY WHISTLEDOWN SHARES THE NEWS
Lady Whistledown’s letter concluded with a promise. “Rarely is this author granted the opportunity to share such news.
It would seem this author is going to be quite busy.” Indeed, with two more seasons on the horizon, the Bridgerton saga is far from over.
BRIDGERTON SEASON 4 SNEAK PEEK
As we await the 2026 premiere of Season 4, fans can enjoy the recently released sneak peek.
It offered a tantalising glimpse of Benedict and Sophie’s first encounter – a moment sure to spark much anticipation.
In the words of showrunner Jess Brownell, “We are doing everything in our power to start releasing seasons more quickly. But once a year might be a hard target to hit.
The scale and ambition of Bridgerton make it a unique production.”
