Orlando Pirates make Karim Kimvuidi transfer decision

Orlando Pirates have reportedly listed Karim Kimvuidi as one of four players on the brink of being released this offseason.

“So far, the four players [Maela, Phillip Ndlondlo, Karim Kimvuidi and Zakhele Lepasa] are on the list and are expected to leave at the end of the season,” a source revealed.

“What I can tell you for now, apparently, is that it’s believed these four players could be the ones to leave. The club is working with all the involved parties to look at the way forward so that they can reach an amicable solution where it is needed.”

The sky is the limit

The former Maritzburg midfielder has struggled to recapture his 2023/24 form, featuring three times this season compared to last campaign’s seventeen. At twenty-three, Kimvuidi is an exciting prospect who could play for most PSL teams, but evidently not Jose Riveiro’s, prompting speculation of a winter exit.

The Buccaneers are stacked with attacking-midfield options, from Patrick Maswanganyi to Kabelo Dlamini, making solidifying a starting role increasingly difficult. An Orlando Pirates exit could be just what he needs to launch himself into African stardom.

“Kimvuidi is one of those players one might say is unfortunate because despite being so talented he finds himself in an environment where he is competing with stars for a position, and it has been difficult for him to break into the team,” SoccerLaduma reported.

“He is a good player who can do very well at any other club but unfortunately, he is limited for game time where he is because of the competition.”

Should Orlando Pirates try keep Karim Kimvuidi?
