Pakistan prepare for second South Africa Test?

On Wednesday, Pakistan’s squad trained hard at Newlands ahead of the second Test of the two-match series against South Africa, set for January 3–7.

Details indicate that the national team practiced nets at full capacity. Players also practiced catching in fielding drills. On Sunday, the touring team lost the series opener in Centurion by two wickets. They hope to recover in the second Test.

Bowling disciplinedly, the green shirts worried the Proteas after setting a modest 148-run target. To reduce South Africa to 99/8, returning bowler Mohammad Abbas took six wickets for 54 runs to lead Pakistan in the second innings.

Pakistan were close to a historic Test victory over South Africa in their home ground thanks to his bowling, but tailenders Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen showed nerves of steel to secure their place in the World Test Championship (WTC) final.
