Orlando Pirates can still win the 2025/26 Betway Premiership with just a handful of matches remaining in the season.

With just four rounds of action left in the season, let’s take a look at the permutations for what needs to happen for the Bucs to win the league title – their first since the 2011/12 campaign.

PERMUTATIONS FOR ORLANDO PIRATES TO WIN THE LEAGUE

Orlando Pirates are just two points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Brazilians lead the way with 61 points from their 26 matches. Meanwhile, the Bucs sit on 59 points from the same amount of matches played.

Orlando Pirates need Mamelodi Sundowns to drop points otherwise there’s nothing that can be done from preventing the defending champions from winning a ninth consecutive title.

For the Bucs, the equation is simple: Win all four of their remaining matches and to hope that The Brazilians draw or lose at least one of their remaining fixtures.

Meanwhile, for Mamelodi Sundowns, they are in control of their own fate. If they win their remaining four matches, they will be crowned 2025/26 Betway Premiership champions.

KAIZER CHIEFS COULD INFLUENCE THE TITLE RACE

Kaizer Chiefs heavily dented Orlando Pirates title chances when they held their bitter rivals to a 1-1 draw in the recent Soweto derby.

Thankfully, for Bucs fans, Richards Bay then held Mamelodi Sundowns to a 0-0 draw in the same round of fixtures.

Since then, The Brazilians defeated Polokwane City 1-0 to go top of the Betway Premiership standings.

However, Mamelodi Sundowns still have to play third-placed Kaizer Chiefs.

The Brazilians host Amakhosi in a decisive mid-week PSL encounter on Wednesday, 6 May.
