Groblersdal assault: Corrie Pretorius remains in custody while waiting for a new lawyer

The case of a man accused of assaulting a teenager outside a fish and chips shop in Groblersdal, Limpopo, has been postponed.

Corrie Pretorius appeared in the Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday on charges of pointing a firearm and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

National Prosecuting Authority NPA spokesperson in Limpopo Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi said:

“Pretorius appeared without his attorney. As a result, the matter was postponed… for a new legal representative.”

Two men, aged 21 and 41 respectively, are now in police custody. They were arrested shortly after the body was discovered, and it is expected they will be processed by the courts soon. However, SAPS now has the unenviable task of finding out what sparked such a depraved act.

Police are yet to confirm if there is anything ‘satanic’ linked to the murder, but the details are absolutely abhorrent.

Pilot of HORRIFIC SAPS aircraft crash still in ICU fighting for his life [UPDATE]

The pilot and lone survivor of the HORRIFIC SAPS aircraft crash of a week ago is still fighting for his life in ICU.

Captain Casper Swanepoel, the pilot, was the lone survivor of the crash that claimed the lives of five people last week. He is a senior pilot with 16 years of service.

According to a family member, Casper broke both his legs and his sternum in the accident.

It is believed a CT scan showed that Casper also injured his spinal cord. He sustained an open cut on his head and broke almost all his front teeth.

A Cape Town street vendor’s dreams came true after he bagged the massive R86.9 million Lotto jackpot, which was drawn on Saturday, 3 September.

National Lottery Operator, Ithuba, said the man makes his living as a street vendor and his prayers were answered when he won.

The man reportedly realised he had hit the jackpot on Sunday. He purchased the winning ticket at a Shoprite store in Durbanville, Cape Town, and opted for the manual selection method.
