Chiefs working hard to bring in new signings
Amakhosi know 2025 is their last chance to try and break their trophy drought before it officially hits 10 years. With the club already languishing in fifth position in the Betway Premiership, chances are that drought won’t end with a league title. That then presents them with only the Nedbank Cup as an opportunity to do so. It is another reason why Chiefs are hard at work already in this window, trying to sign players.
One of the players that has always been linked to Chiefs is Stellenbosch FC winger Devin Titus. The speedster has been excellent for the Cape Winelands side and his consistency has seen him linked with the big three. Beyond that, it recently saw him make his Bafana Bafana debut in his home town. In the 2-1 loss against Amakhosi, it was his pressing and endeavour that helped set up the games opener.
What Nabi told Titus
At the end of that game, Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi was seen talking to Titus on the field. That sent the club’s supporters into overdrive, thinking that their coach was convincing him to sign this window. But according to FARPost, that was not the case.
“According to information gathered by FARPost, the former Young Africans and AS FAR Rabat coach sought out Titus to offer words of encouragement. The Chiefs mentor took time to commend Titus on his impressive performance. He reportedly highlighted the 24-year-old player’s immense potential and urged him to continue working hard.” Wrote the publication.
Him or Appollis?
That in itself is confirmation that Chiefs are, indeed watching Titus and he clearly has admirers at the club. Their top wing target at the moment is certainly Oswin Appollis, but could the 24-year-old be next or the alternative? Which one of the two would you have at the club?
