Rizwan and Shaheen Surge in ICC Rankings as Babar Slips

Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi rose in the latest ICC T20I rankings, while Babar Azam fell. With 713 rating points, wicketkeeper-batter Rizwan jumped two places to sixth after his 74-run innings in the first T20I against South Africa. He lost two ranks to eighth with 710 rating points after being dismissed for a duck in the same match.

After Babar and Rizwan, no other Pakistani batter is in the top 50 T20I rankings. Travis Head of Australia leads the T20I batter rankings with 855 points, followed by Phil Salt of England (829) and Tilak Varma of India (806).

Pakistan’s left-arm bowler Shaheen Afridi rose six ranks from 26th to 20th in the T20I bowling department after taking three wickets to reach 100. But pacer Haris Rauf fell three places from 20th to 23rd with 588 rating points. All-rounder Imad Wasim fell to 40th.

Adil Rashid of England leads with 701 rating points, followed by Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga (696 points) and Australia’s Adam Zampa (694 points). Pakistan’s opening hitters Fakhar Zaman (16th), Imam-ul-Haq (18th), and Mohammad Rizwan (24th) stay in the ICC ODI batter rankings.

But youthful opener Saim Ayub has fallen to 79th with 470 points. Shadab Khan dropped to 99th in ODI bowling, while Hasan Ali rose to 100th. However, Haris Rauf remains 15th with 605 points.

Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan leads the ODI bowling with 687 points, followed by Shaheen Afridi (675) and South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj (674). Pakistan vice-captain Saud Shakeel stays ninth in the ICC Test rankings with 724 points. Babar Azam is 18th, Salman Agha 19th, and Mohammad Rizwan 20th.

Harry Brook has surpassed Joe Root as the top Test batter with 898 points, with Root in second (897 points) and Kane Williamson in third (812 points).

Pakistani spinner Noman Ali returns to the top 10 with 759 points. Shaheen Afridi lost two spots to 18th with 667 points. At 39th, youthful pacer Naseem Shah trails spinner Sajid Khan at 38th.

India’s Jasprit Bumrah leads the Test bowling rankings with 890 points, followed by South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada (856). Australia’s Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins complete the top four.
