Stellenbosch CEO has broken his silence on Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns targets as the transfer window draws near. However, since their ascent to the DStv Premiership, the club has faced the unfortunate reality of losing quality players in nearly every transfer window.

Stellenbosch CEO’s perspective on player retention

Addressing the speculation head-on, Stellenbosch CEO Benadie acknowledged the challenges of retaining players, especially during the volatile football season. “If you ask me what a good transfer window would be, we’re in that silly season now, it would be nobody leaving our club. We will keep our players.” 

He emphasised the club’s commitment to squad continuity while recognizing the inevitability of player movements. “So we try our best to keep our players, keep the squad together, to keep consistency and continuity because that’s important in sport,” Benadie stated.

Adams, Rayners and Toure’ in demand 

Despite the formidable season that saw Stellenbosch secure the Carling Knockout Cup and qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in history, questions loom over the future of key players.
