The $3.99 Trader Joe’s Find You Have To Try Before It’s Gone
This new Trader Joe's product is so good that I'm heading back to stock up before it's gone forever.
Around 3 p.m. every day, I have two very specific needs: caffeine and chocolate. Caffeine usually comes in the form of coffee (hot or iced, depending on the weather), tea, or Diet Coke. As for chocolate, I like to find something dark. The higher the cocoa content, the better.
While a simple bar of dark chocolate usually does it for me, this routine starts to feel boring day after day. So I’m always searching for a new dark chocolate treat to satisfy my afternoon craving, and Trader Joe’s latest snack is the perfect answer: Dark Chocolate Covered Pistachios.
Why I Love Trader Joe's Chocolate Covered Pistachios
At just $3.99 for a six-ounce bag, this treat includes shelled dry-roasted pistachios from California that are dipped in dark chocolate. The bag easily seals at the top after opening, making it easy to store for the following day after my chocolate craving has been satisfied. A handful of these dark chocolate covered pistachios, and I am golden for the rest of my work day, thanks to the little kick of caffeine and sugar.
When the packaging says these pistachios are covered, they mean it. Each nut is slathered in chocolate, to the point where the ratio is almost 70 percent chocolate and 30 percent nut. The picture on the package makes it seem like these pistachios are lightly dipped in chocolate, but honestly, it feels like a heck of a lot more chocolate than what the packaging advertises.
I also love that the pistachios are roasted and salted. I’m a big fan of salty-sweet desserts, so this snack is just the sweet treat I crave. Next time I’m at Trader Joe’s, I will be stocking up on multiple bags so I always have these chocolate covered pistachios on hand.
While they make for a great snack, these pistachios would also work well on a charcuterie board, adding a touch of sweetness among the salty and savory cheese and meat options. I also plan to sprinkle them on ice cream and use them as a garnish on desserts, like this Earl Grey Yogurt Cake with Strawberries.
