UPDATED World Rankings after Springboks demolish Barbarians

The Springboks kickstarted their 2025 season in fine style asserting.

Rassie Eramsus and the Springboks have plenty to celebrate after ticking many boxes after demolishing the Barbarians 54-7 at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town on Saturday.

Momentum, check. Blooding in new players, check. So, did the result have any bearing on the latest World Rugby Rankings?

UPDATED WORLD RUGBY RANKINGS – 29 JULY 2025

The Springboks did not add any points to their World Rankings tally.

Meaning, the Springboks maintained top place with their 92.78 points. This is because the Barbarians are not a test nation. So, no points weree up for grabs in this historic test.

PERFECT START FOR RASSIE AND HIS MEN

The Springboks are heading into one of the biggest years in their history.

Furthermore, Erasmus and the Boks are focused on ‘Mission Three-peat’. So, Bok players and management alike are focused on preparing for the 2027 Rugby World Cup. The goal is to develope the perfect balance of youth and experience. Whilst, ensuring sufficient game-time under every players belt to ensure squad depth and match readiness accross the park.

Meaning, momentum and continuaty are key. The way the Boks asserted themselves and the clinical nature of their play sets the tone for the rest of the season.
