‘Very brave’: Meghan requests meeting with King Charles III

The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle reportedly requested a one-on-one meeting with her father-in-law King Charles III following the Queen’s funeral on Monday 19 September.

MEGHAN REPORTEDLY REQUESTS MEETING WITH CHARLES

According to the Daily Mail, Meghan Markle requested a one-one-one meeting with King Charles III. The publication reports that the Duchess of Sussex wants to heal rifts before she leaves to California with her husband Prince Harry. This follows the state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II.

Entertainment correspondent Neil Sean said that he heard from a “very good source” that Meghan had sent a letter requesting a private conversation with the King. Sean claims that the Duchess wants to “clear the air” amid reports that she and Harry will fly back to the US to see their two children Archie (3) and Lilibet (1).

“She’d now like before they return back to California to have a one-to-one audience with King Charles III. That’s right—Meghan one-to-one with King Charles. You heard correct. It’s a very brave move from Meghan herself,” said Sean in a YouTube video.

KING CHARLES ‘OLIVE BRANCH’ TO MEGHAN AND HARRY

This comes after the King extended an olive branch to Prince Harry and Meghan in his first address to the nation on 9 September.

“I want also to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas,” he said in a pre-recorded video message that aired on TV on Friday 9 September.

However, that was after King Charles reportedly told Prince Harry not to bring Meghan to Balmoral to see the dying Queen.

“Charles told Harry that it wasn’t right or appropriate for Meghan to be in Balmoral at such a deeply sad time. It was pointed out to him that Kate was not going and that the numbers really should be limited to the very closest family,” said a source to The Sun.
