A confession video by Sibusiso Zitha — who is accused of murdering his girlfriend and celebrity chef Thembekile Charlotte Letlape – has been shared on social media.

CHEF THEMBEKILE LETLAPE FOUND DEAD AT BOYFRIEND’S HOUSE

The lifeless body of the 38-year-old chef, also known as “Pastry Princess”, was allegedly discovered at Zitha’s home in Fourways, Johannesburg, on Thursday, 30 May.

The Letlape family confirmed her passing in a statement, saying: “It is with deep sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Thembekile Charlotte Mabel Letlape, who departed this life on the 30th of May 2024. The family is deeply grateful for the out pouring love and support during this difficult time.”

SIBUSISO ZITHA ‘CONFESSES’

In the video on X, Zitha – whose hands and feet appear to be cuffed as he walks – can be heard confessing that what he did was a mistake. However, he does not mention the act he is confessing to.

The 44-second-long clip shows Zitha (dressed in a red golf t-shirt and a black jacket) walking behind a man wearing a beige bomber jacket. Behind Zitha is a devastated man recording him and probing him with questions as he walks.

“How could you be so evil?” the upset man behind the camera asks.

“I… it was a mistake,” Zitha replies.

“A mistake? You know you can’t take it back?” the man continues.

Zitha responds, “I know… and I’m eternally regretful for it and that’s why I’m confessing to everything because I am guilty and I cannot take it back. I am sorry.”

ZITHA’S FIRST COURT APPEARANCE

Zitha appeared at the Randburg Magistrates Court on Monday, 3 June. A man and a woman, who are his co-accused, were arrested on Sunday, 2 June.

According to Kaya News, chef Letlape’s father Dr Kgosi Letlape found her lifeless body at Zitha’s home. The doctor, who is a former South African Medical Association Chairperson, went looking for the chef after she sent her mother a concerning text message.
