Woman arrested for allegedly stabbing to death her boyfriend
A 24-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing to death a man believed to be her boyfriend in Limpopo.
A 24-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend to death following an incident of domestic violence that reportedly took place at Marapong township in Lephalale, Limpopo.
The incident reportedly happened on Saturday night, 10 September 2022.
WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY KILLING BOYFRIEND
Police were reportedly summoned to Marapong Health Care Centre at 21:37 about a man who was brought to the centre after having been stabbed. On arrival, they found a man lying dead with a stab wound. A case of murder was then opened and policing commenced with investigations.
Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said preliminary investigations indicated that the deceased and his alleged girlfriend had an altercation while at Marapong Extension 1.
During the argument, the woman allegedly stabbed the deceased with a sharp object. The victim was rushed to the hospital where he later succumbed to the injuries. He was identified as 24-year-old Charles Kamogelo from Mafikeng in the North West.
“The woman, identified as Emmy Serumula, was traced and arrested. She appeared in Lephalale Magistrate Court today facing a charge of murder and the case was postponed to 19 September for bail application,” Ledwaba said.
Limpopo Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe said no one is going to be spared or treated with leniency when it comes to issues of Gender-Based Violence.
“As the police we take a firm stance against any form of violent acts and those who are involved will be dealt harshly,” Hadebe said.
