Have Kaizer Chiefs qualified for the next CAF Confed Cup?
There seems to be some confusion over whether Kaizer Chiefs have already qualified for next year's Confederation Cup tournament or not.

It’s a good time to be a Kaizer Chiefs fans! The Amakhosi are on the brink of ending their decade-long trophy drought after qualifying for the Nedbank Cup final.
Their dream run in the Nedbank Cup however also opens up the path to continental football next season! However, have they already qualified for next year’s Confederation Cup? Let’s take a look at the details below.
Have Kaizer Chiefs qualified for next season’s Confed Cup?
Despite various reports online claiming the Glamour Boys have qualified for continental football next season, the short answer is no, well not yet at least.
Nasreddine Nabi’s side’s participation in next season’s Confederation Cup remains a strong possibility, however it’s not yet cast in stone.
The first point to note is that only two teams from South Africa can participate in next season’s Confederation Cup.
If Kaizer Chiefs win the Nedbank Cup, they’re guaranteed to qualify for the CAF Confed Cup, however it gets more interesting if they finish as runners-up.
Should Stellenbosch FC win this season’s CAF Confederation Cup, they’ll seal South Africa’s first spot in next year’s tournament.
Then, depending on the Betway Premiership log standings, the team that finishes third (currently Sekhukhune United) would be in pole position to qualify at Kaizer Chiefs’ expense.
If Stellies fail to lift this season’s CAF Confed Cup trophy, Nabi’s side will then play alongside the third-placed Betway Premiership side in next season’s tournament.
