With an LLB (Law) degree, a Bachelor of Arts Honours in History and Linguistics, a Masters Diploma in Education, and a Senior Teacher Diploma, insiders believe the club felt he was overqualified for the educational role. “For now, we can’t exactly say what happened, but Teargas (Maphike) is no longer at the club. They asked him not to report for duty again. Yes, you can say he was relieved of his duties,” revealed a source as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

The source added that Maphike’s legal and educational expertise could open doors to better job opportunities. “So, maybe the club is giving him the chance to spread his wings and explore other avenues. But, yes, he is no longer employed by the club,” they confirmed.

As an education officer, he helped players with both their football careers and educational information outside football.” Despite his suitability for the position, the club decided they would no longer require his services.
