Orlando Pirates set to announce these THREE signings soon?

It is set to be a busy January transfer window for Orlando Pirates if reports are to be believed.

Pirates are believed to have already agreed two transfers with a third agreement thought to be imminent.

According to multiple reports, Pirates are set to seal an impressive double swoop of Oswin Appollis and Thabang Matuludi. The Polokwane City duo were profusely linked to Kaizer Chiefs in the winter, and there was talk of that interest being reignited. Earlier this week, there have been loud murmurs of them choosing the black and white side of Soweto instead, with a move to the Buccaneers pending.

Now according to reports, that double deal could end up being a triple announcement. It is believed that Pirates are also lining up the signing of midfielder Siphelele Luthuli. The 29-year-old has been clubless since being released by the Eastern Cape-based side at the beginning of the season. It came as a bit of a shock to many when he was spotted training with the Soweto giants earlier this month.

This publication reported earlier in the week that Luthuli has done enough to earn a contract at Pirates. That could then see the club get three early signings into the club. Should they get the signing of Appollis over the line they would be strengthening an already strong attack. The Bafana Bafana international would be competing with national teammate Relebohile Mofokeng, Mohau Nkota and Monnapule Saleng for a position out wide.

Set to announce Appollis, Matuludi and Luthuli?

Matuludi would also be entering another congested position at right-back. Pirates currently have Deano van Rooyen, Thabiso Monyane, Thabsio Lebitso and Bandile Shandu competing for that spot. Luthuli will have the uphill task of competing with Thalente Mbatha, Makhehleni Makhaula, Miguel Timm, Selaelo Rasebotja and others.
