Reaction: What fans thought of referee in Springboks’ loss
Here is what was said across social media as referee Karl Dickson came under fire from many Springbok fans after the latest loss.
The Springboks fell to a disappointing 24-17 defeat against the All Blacks on Saturday, and as is so often the case in such high-pressure games, there was a huge focus on the performance of the referee.
Although there is no doubt that the Springboks were their own worst enemy on numerous occasions, there were also several 50-50 calls that did seem to go the way of the home side.
England referee Karl Dickson was in charge of the clash, and after the match, SuperSport commentators Jean de Villiers, Schalk Burger and Breyton Paulse all raised questions about some of his decision-making.
