IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:

1.A yellow Level 2 warning for damaging winds and waves may lead to difficulty in navigation at sea with small vessels at risk of capsizing between Cape Point and Port Alfred, reaching East London in the evening.

FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:

1.Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over Beaufort West and Prince Albert municipalities in the Western Cape, Umsobomvu local municipality in Northern Cape, southern parts of Limpopo and the northern and central parts of Gauteng.

Temperature and UVB forecast

Gauteng:

Temperature: Fine and warm but hot in the north.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Fine and warm to hot but very hot in places in the Lowveld.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Fine and warm to hot.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Fine and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy in the east in the late afternoon.

Free State:

Temperature: Fine and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy in the east in the late afternoon. It will be windy in the extreme southern parts.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Cloudy to party cloudy and cold to cool with isolated showers in the south and south-west in the morning, otherwise fine and cold to cool but partly cloudy in the central parts in the morning.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh south-westerly, becoming southerly towards the evening.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Cloudy at times and cold to cool with isolated to scattered showers in the west and along the south coast until in the afternoon. Light snowfall is expected over the Cape Winelands mountain peaks in the morning. It will be windy over the central and western interior.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be strong westerly to south-westerly, moderating in the west from the afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half –Partly cloudy and cool with light morning rain along the coast west of Cannon Rocks.

The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be strong south westerly.

The Eastern half -Partly cloudy and cool, but fine and warm in places in the east.

The Eastern half -The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south westerly.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Fine and warm but hot to very hot in places in the north. It will become partly cloudy from the south-east in the afternoon with isolated evening showers and rain along the south coast and adjacent interior.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh northerly to north-easterly north of Durban, otherwise moderate southerly to south-westerly spreading to the north by late morning.
