Next week, the South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind is hosting its annual Family Fun Day, which promises to be filled with woof-tastic entertainment.
FAMILY FUN DAY INFO
The Family Fun Day will take place at the SA Guide Dogs Association for the Blind’s Johannesburg location.
The venue is situated at 126 Wroxham Road in Paulshof, Sandton. There will be parking available at the Porsche dealership & The Boma Café.
It is scheduled to start at 09:00 and will run until 15:00.
Tickets cost R60 for adults and children over 12 and R30 for pensioners. Children under the age of 12 can enter for free.
You cannot bring your pets. However, you are permitted to bring assistance dogs.
DOGS, DEMOS AND MORE
Survivor SA star and Mrs South Africa 2018, Nicole Capper, will be taking charge of MC duties.
The programme promises a lot of fun activities, including:
- A chance for you and your loved ones to purchase goodies from an assortment of market stalls.
- A Kids Zone, where your children can enjoy face-painting and a magician’s show, among other kiddie capers.
- Live music performances.
- A chance to unwind in the Beer Garden.
What’s more, there will be an opportunity for assistance dogs in training to show off their chops in a series of demonstrations. As such, it’s the perfect opportunity to learn how these doggos provide a vital service for South Africans suffering from blindness or other forms of visual impairment.
So, if you’re ready to support these clever pooches on their journey to becoming fully-fledged assistance dogs – and be entertained in the process! – be sure to mark your calendars for 8 March 2026.
Tickets are available to purchase from www.quicket.co.za.
