Sundowns trialist not in good condition
Betway Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns have welcomed Lebo Mothiba for assessment. Here's an update from coach Miguel Cardoso.

Mamelodi Sundowns are far from making a decision on Lebo Mothiba.
LEBO MOTHIBA NOT READY TO HELP MAMELODI SUNDOWNS
Following his departure from Strasbourg in France, the 28-year-old striker is trying his luck at Bafana Ba’Style. According to coach Cardoso, the Johannesburg-born attacker is not yet fit to sign or feature for Sundowns. “Let me make it clear, Lebo Mothiba will not help the team because he’s not in good condition,” said Cardoso via FARPost.
“He comes from a long period of injury. So, we should not even think about him helping the team in the moment, he’s not in that process. He’s working with us but it’s a medium, long-term plan for him. He’s one year without playing after he went through big surgery.
“And he’s working on his condition, still many questions on the process. He’s a wonderful person and a wonderful player but everybody, even ourselves, we cannot put pressure on him,” the Sundowns tactician added.
MAMELODI SUNDOWNS ANNOUNCE JAYDEN ADAMS
This club is untouchable. Mamelodi Sundowns have won the race to sign Jayden Adams.
After more than 100 games for Stellenbosch FC at the age of 23, Sundowns have signed the exciting central midfielder on a three and a half-year deal.” Bafana Bafana international, Jayden Adams has joined the Home of the 14-times Champions on a 3.5-year deal,” Sundowns announced via social media.
Meanwhile, Adams is the fifth signing of the season:
- Arthur Sales, 22 (Striker)
- Asekho Tiwani, 18 (Left-back)
- Kegan Johannes, 23 (Central Defender)
- Kobamelo Kodisang, 24 (Winger)
- Iqraam Rayners, 28 (Striker).
GOODBYE TO STELLENBOSCH FC
In the meantime, Adams has sent his goodbye to Stellies as he begins life at Sundowns this week.
“As I take the next step in my soccer journey and move on to a new club, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to all of you. The memories we’ve created together on and off the field will stay with me forever,” Adams said on his Instagram account.
“From the first training session to the countless games, the laughs, the challenges, and the growth we shared, I truly appreciate each and every one of you. You’ve not only helped me improve as a player but have also shown me what it means to be part of a family. The dedication, passion, and support that I experienced here are something I will always carry with me,” the new Sundowns star added.
“Although I’m excited for what’s ahead, saying goodbye isn’t easy. I’m grateful for the friendships, the lessons, and the unforgettable moments. I will always cheer for this club, and I’ll never forget the time spent here.”
Adams continued: “Wishing you all continued success, both on and off the field. Thank you for everything!”
