Led by Siya Kolisi the Springboks reclaimed lost pride and made a nation smile again.

“I would like to thank the people back home for backing us,” said Kolisi.

“It has been a tough week for us a team, and we understand that our fans were hurting too, so I’d like to thank them for sticking with us.

“We are grateful to the supporters back home and in Australia. We really wanted to stay in the Castle Lager Rugby Championship race, and it has been a long nine years since we last won here.

“The coaching staff had a plan and a certain game plan they wanted us to play because they wanted us to win. But the biggest change was the belief that we could do it.”

Pumas await

Siya Kolisi and company now face a double-header with the much-improved and super confident Pumas.

However, the Bok skipper says they will take a huge boost from their bonus point win over Australia.

“Ultimately, all teams look for consistency. That’s why we work so hard in terms of detail and training. There was nothing different in terms of our game-plan this week, it’s just that we took our opportunities that we created today,” said the inspirational Springbok skipper Siya Kolisi.

“That’s what we want to do every single time, it will make our jobs so much easier. We don’t want to fight back the whole time. The fact that we can create opportunities and finish some of them is encouraging. It’s a sign for us that we can do so going forward too.”
