Woolworths troll McDonalds after THAT burger video fail [watch]
Nando's 2.0? Woolworths has trolled McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski's viral video of him struggling to eat a burger off the menu.
Woolworths CEO Roy Bagattini has taken a swipe at McDonald’s boss Chris Kempczinski, who has been trolled online over an awkward video of him eating a new burger off the menu.
The video has gone viral on social media, with many accusing the fast-food executive of not endorsing his own products.
WOOLWORTHS CEO TROLLS MCDONALD’S BOSS
On its Instagram account, Woolworths posted a clip of its CEO, Roy Bagattini, sampling a burger from the retailer’s Now Now restaurant.
Bagattini said: “I eat a Now Now burger virtually every day. And for some reason, the social media team wanted to film me doing that. I don’t know why.”
After unwrapping the burger, he proceeded to take a big bite.
“It’s perfect”, he added.
In the comments section, Woolworths customers laughed at the obvious marketing ploy, targeting a viral video posted by McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski.
“Well played, team”, said one follower, while another added, “I see what you guys did here!”
A third commented, “CEO approved.”
BEEF WITH BURGER KING
Woolworths is not the only corporation that seemingly started beef with McDonald’s.
Burger King – the fast-food company’s longtime rival – also trended online after its CEO, Tom Curtis, recreated the video.
Instead of sitting at a desk, Curtis donned an apron and entered the kitchen, where he took a big bite out of a Whopper burger.
