Kaizer Chiefs are in good hands, says Nabi’s former player

Motswana striker Tumisang Orebonye believes Kaizer Chiefs will flourish under new coach Nasreddine Nabi.

The 28-year-old played under the Tunisian coach last season at AS FAR where they finished second in the Botola Pro 1. Although he spent six months under Nabi, the former Township Rollers star is confident that Nabi can turn things around at Kaizer Chiefs.

“He is the type of coach who wants the ball to start playing from the back, with quick ball movement,” Orebonye told iDiski Times.

“Basically he just likes to have more of the ball in terms of possession because it gives you superior control of the game. He is a good human being, he was like a father to us all because he built a good relationship with his players, he said.

Orebonye says Nabi can turn the tables around at Kaizer Chiefs

“When it comes to discipline he is so strict! In terms of time, punctuality, behaviour on and off the field,” Orebonye added.

“I do believe he can turn the tables around at Chiefs, once the players understand his style of play. I can proudly say yes he can change things around.”

Since taking over at Kaizer Chiefs, Nabi has played several friendly matches during the team’s pre-season in Turkey. His biggest test however will come this weekend when his side faces Young Africans. The Tanzanian giants were coached by the Tunisian tactician where they won back to back league titles.

Amakhosi finished 10th last season which was their worst showing since the inception of the Premier Soccer League. With Nabi and his technical team taking over, Kaizer Chiefs are expected to compete for top honours once again.
