Prince Harry fears bringing Meghan Markle back to the UK

Prince Harry has voiced his deep concerns about returning to the UK with his wife, Meghan Markle.

The Duke of Sussex recently appeared in ITV’s documentary, Tabloids on Trial, where he candidly discussed his fears for their safety.

PRINCE HARRY AND THE BRITISH MEDIA

“They pushed me too far,” Harry shared, referring to the relentless media scrutiny that has plagued the couple.

This intense press attention has led the Duke to file lawsuits against several media outlets, according to Page Six.

His primary worry? The potential danger that still looms over them in Britain.

“It’s still dangerous, and all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read,” Harry said.

“Whether it’s a knife or acid, whatever it is, these are things that are of genuine concern for me.

It’s one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country.”

PRINCE HARRY HAS HAD ENOUGH

The Duke, now 39, added, “There is more than enough attention on me and my wife anyway.”

Harry and Meghan’s concerns have a solid foundation.

Since they stepped back from their royal duties in 2020 and moved to the US, they have lost their security detail, according to Sky News.

This lack of protection has left them feeling vulnerable during potential visits to the UK.

In 2022, Harry revealed that he does “not feel safe” travelling to the UK without security.

“This claim concerns the fact that the claimant does not feel safe in the UK due to the security arrangements applied to him in June 2021.”

“If he returns, it will continue to apply to him,” said Barrister Shaheed Fatima QC.

PRINCE HARRY’S SAFETY CONCERNS

Harry’s attorneys have argued that he and his family need more protection due to “well-documented neo-Nazi and extremist threats.”

Despite this, in February, London’s High Court ruled that Prince Harry and his immediate family would not be able to use tax-funded police protection when they visit the UK.

Harry expressed his frustration, stating, “It got to a point where you’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t.

But I don’t think there’s anybody in the world better suited and placed to be able to see this through than myself.”

Meghan Markle, 42, shares Harry’s concerns, according to People.

CHARITABLE CAUSES

The couple’s desire to return to the UK is driven by their love for the country and their commitment to charitable causes.

“He wants to come back: to see family and friends and to continue to support the charities that are so close to his heart.

Most of all, this is, and always will be, his home,” Fatima QC added.

Prince Harry and Meghan have maintained a high public profile despite these challenges.

They appeared at the Global Citizen Live concert in New York City on 25 September 25. Earlier, they also attended the UK team trials for the Invictus Games in Bath, England, on 6 April, 2018.

Their dedication to their causes remains unwavering.

The couple is seeking to appeal the High Court’s ruling. They hope to secure the protection they believe is necessary for their safety.

The decision to stay away from the UK highlights the ongoing struggles they face with media intrusion and security concerns.

As Prince Harry concluded, “It’s still dangerous.”

MODERN DAY ROYAL FAMILY

His fears are a stark reminder of the pressures and perils faced by the modern-day royal family.

The Duke’s determination to protect his wife and children is evident, as he continues to navigate the complexities of his dual roles as a public figure and a devoted family man.
