The news has been out for weeks. Kaizer Chiefs have a new goalkeeper signing.

KAIZER CHIEFS SIGN FIACRE NTWARI

As confirmed by his former boss Tim Sukazi and his ex-coach Sead Ramovic, Ntwari has signed for Kaizer Chiefs after impressing in his first 26 matches for the Rockets last season.

“I believe this was a meeting of the minds after protracted negotiations. Chiefs strongly wanted the player and made that clear. It’s not that we did not need the player, but this is our business model,” Sukazi said via SABC Sport.

“We’ve done this before and we are going to reinvest into the project yet again. I believe in SA football having a strong Kaizer Chiefs that is of a high standard, and Ntwari is the type of goalkeeper that will be able to contribute to their project. We cannot have a weak Chiefs, whether you and I like it or not,” the former agent concluded.

“Modern goalkeepers are as comfortable controlling the ball with their feet as they are with their hands. Having this ability allows them to help their team retain possession after they receive a back pass,” Ramovic said via iDiski Times.

“Ntwari has this ability. He is a great goalkeeper, a hard worker, and a modern goalkeeper. He is also a fantastic human being who will fit well into a wonderful club like Kaizer Chiefs,” the German mentor concluded.

DRIVEN TO THE NATURENA VILLAGE

In the meantime, one of the leading local outlets, FARpost, have seen Nwari driven in a Kaizer Chiefs village en-route to Naturena. This is where Amakhosi, who just returned to Mzansi this evening, will be training on Thursday morning ahead of Sunday’s friendly game.

Amakhosi will be taking on Tanzanian giants Young Africans in the Toyota Cup at the Free State Stadium at 15:00.
