Weather: Floods in Polokwane, rare snow in Saudi Arabia pictures
Floods have battered Polokwane recently, while on the other side of the world, Saudi Arabia has recorded snowfall for the first time.
Adverse weather conditions have become more frequent in recent times. South Africa has seen weather warnings that range from heatwave to snowfall and thunderstorms. Unfortunately, the Limpopo province is currently experiencing extreme weather conditions that have lead to floods in most areas such as Polokwane.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued a Yellow Level 2 Warning for disruptive rain for the province on Monday, 11 November 2024. Videos and pictures of the damage these floods have caused are circulating on social media. Residents have been warned to avoid certain areas that have experienced extreme flooding. The Polokwane Observer posted videos and images on 11 November 2024 that were sent to them showing the effects of the rainy conditions.
