Champions Trophy 2025: ICC ‘satisfied’ with PCB arrangements

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s meticulous briefing on Champions Trophy 2025 arrangements impressed the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Preparations were made in an ICC meeting with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Sources said PCB officials told the ICC board members that stadium upgradation for the event is on track and will be finished on time.

Naqvi invited the ICC board members to Pakistan to evaluate preparations for the major event next year and at the start of the tournament. Pakistan will host the tournament from February 19 to March 9, 2025, despite uncertainty about the Indian cricket team’s participation.

The BCCI requests permission from the Indian government to travel for the major tournament. The News stated that the PCB suggested the Indian team return home after each match during the Champions Trophy 2025 to reduce their time in Pakistan.

India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series since 2012-13. The neighbours last visited Pakistan in 2008.
