Social media user @Nadatywabi shared the R50 000 dress and tagged the brand on X.

She wrote: “Hayi sana @LadumaNgxokolo @MaXhosaAfrica niyalwa” (Laduma Ngxokolo, MaXhosaAfrica you are fighting).

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela responded to Nada’s post and said she’s not the target market.

“You are not the target market for everything,” said Mphela.

SOUTH AFRICANS RESPOND TO THE DRESS PRICE

@TholisoN: “If I speak, you guys will say it’s poverty speaking through me.”

@LarryMcdust: “Black people will not write this f*çkery about abo Gucci, Amiri, LV, Piatek.”

@African_Spring: “This is definitely for the invoice gang, thina boma salary angeke silunge (the people who earn a salary can’t afford). It’s a work of art though.”

@Nadatywabi: “I have already admitted that it’s poverty that caused all this shock when I saw the price on the website. I love the dress though.”

@mkhize5_mkhize: “Beautiful, rich celebrities should rather wear this than LV or Gucci. I find wearing LV or Gucci etc. when you have your own home-grown luxury brands as cowardice. But I suppose it’s a choice.”

@MorebudiMoreli: “The whole lobolo or is it half of it?”

@mphokeo: “Billionaires and multi-millionaires are the target market here, unless you are reckless with your spending and living beyond your means.”
