Orlando Pirates haved moved on from last weekend’s CAF Champions League battle against the mighty Al Ahly. Up next is Stade d’Abidjan.

CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: STADE D’ABIDJAN VS ORLANDO PIRATES

It’s been a decent start for Jose Riveiro’s side, thanks to the 2-1 win over CR Belouizdad in Algeria before the 0-0 againt Al Ahly in Soweto.

According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the Buccaneers’ matchday three will be against Stade d’Abdjian in Ivory Coast on Saturday at 18:00.

The trip to West Africa is 7 699,6 km over a flight of eight hours and five minutes. The trip could be longer if Orlando Pirates won’t be getting a direct route to d’Abidjan.

ORLANDO PIRATES’ THABISO SESANE TO FRANCE?

Orlando Pirates supporters should not be too surprised. Thabiso Sesane has reportedly attracted interest from Ligue 1.

Following the 24-year-old 37 games for the Buccaneers since 2022, as well as his Bafana Bafana call-up, Soccer Laduma believes Ligue 1’s bottom-place Montpellier are interested in signing the Soweto-born central defender.

“They are looking for a young but experienced defender and now with Pirates playing in the CAF Champions League it is actually good for Thabiso,” the source revealed.

“It’s good because he is gaining the valuable experience that Montpellier are looking for. It will work to his advantage. Also with call-ups to Bafana Bafana, soon he will start playing and things will go well for him.”

WOULD THIS BE A GOOD MOVE FOR THABISO SESANE?
